Ionic is a free and open source front-end framework for developing hybrid mobile apps with HTML5. It offers a library of mobile-optimized HTML, CSS and JS components for building highly interactive apps. Ray Camden will give us the tour and share some cool demos.

August 19, 2014 - Ryan LeTulle on Angular JS

HTML is great for declaring static documents, but it falters when we try to use it for declaring dynamic views in web-applications. AngularJS lets you extend HTML vocabulary for your application. The resulting environment is extraordinarily expressive, readable, and quick to develop. Ryan LeTulle will explore AngularJS and give us demos of this powerful framework.

September 16, 2014 - The Latest Wonders in Photoshop

Photoshop can do about a gazillion cool things. James Edmunds will zero in a few of the latest, coolest features with a special eye to how you might use these features in a practical workflow. PLUS, we'll go around the table and see if anyone in attendance has their own favorite Photoshop tip to share.

Harp is great for building mobile web applications, blogs, docs, games, marketing sites, presentations. Pretty much anything with a front end. Everybody now knows about Dropbox, but what other cool apps, gizmos, widgets, gadgets, tools and sites do you rely on, that aren't as well known? Come prepared to reveal your secrets, and show and demo your favorite handy items in an informal share-around. We'll have a few demos prepared but the real fun will be seeing what folks in attendance have in their tool sets! Crawford Comeaux has this: "Introduction to Docker containers - the VM's faster, cheaper, slimmer cousin...or How Windows Just Lost the Server Game." James Edmunds will show a suite of great smart phone apps for photographers and videographers. What will you share with the group?

Annual Dutch Treat Holiday Social, Dec. 10

The Acadiana Adobe User Group will have its Annual Dutch Treat Holiday Social 6 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 10. 2013, at Pho Saigon, 120 Curran Ln, Lafayette, LA 70506. This is in the strip center to the north of the Walmart on Amb. Caffery. No RSVP is necessary.

Fabulous Fall Lineup for Acadiana Adobe User Group

Hope everyone has enjoyed summer vacations, beach weekends and the like. The Acadiana Adobe User Group itself has taken the month of July off, but we're raring to get back to work, and have a great set of programs going forward through the end of 2013.

August 20, 2013 - Ray Camden on Parse.com, plus PhoneGap

Parse.com is a great resource for web and mobile development, providing a data solution in the cloud that allows deveopers to create a great user experiences and forget database server maintenance and complex infrsastructure. Ray Camden will take us through the features of Parse.com and also guide us through how easy it is to employ a Parse.com data solution in a mobile app through PhoneGap.

He will go over why Business Catalyst is so valuable, list its features, and answer as many questions as time allows. Adobe Muse is a product aimed for experienced designers who want to employ their design skills for web clients without getting bogged down in coding. This lands it square in the wheelhouse of designer Sharon Bruno, who will review for us a Muse success story, utilizing Muse for a client site.

November 19, 2013 - James Edmunds on Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition CC

James Edmunds will use live examples from a current project to review some new features in the latest versions of Adobe's video/audio production applications. Included will be the Lumetri color engine, the new Premiere Pro timeline, and After Effects Cinema 4D integration, as well as other topics.

December 10, 2013 - Annual Dutch Treat Holiday Social

Adobe Kuler now available in iOS app store

We discussed this at our meeting on Tuesday, May 28, and today it has become available in the iOS app store. Here is the info sent to us from Adobe:

Adobe Kuler is available starting today, May 30th. Kuler is a cloud-based application for making and exploring color themes using an iPhone or your browser. Kuler now gives you multiple options to capture inspiring color themes whenever and wherever you come across them; capturing color inspiration on your iPhone, syncing colors in Illustrator, or using the new Kuler website.

The Kuler iPhone app and website are both free and available today in English.

Ray Camden on Edge Reflow - June 18

Edge Reflow CC (currently in Preview) allows you to create beautiful, responsive designs. A new assets management system and integration with Typekit will enhance your workflow and allow you to manage your projects more efficiently. Deep integration between Edge Reflow and Photoshop CC will soon provide seamless web design workflow. Ray Camden will give us a tour of this exciting new application.

Adobe has announced a slew of new software upgrades that will become available to Creative Cloud subscribers on June 17.
